The fantasy to separate oneself from the tight-knit structures of Karakazawa leads to a fantastical new way of living, but as envious structures join together and an urban block develops, the original condition re-surfaces. The project explored ideas of merging specific building techniques that would result in a urban figure.![]()

The fantasy to separate oneself from the tight-knit structures of Karakazawa leads to a fantastical new way of living, but as envious structures join together and an urban block develops, the original condition re-surfaces. The project explored ideas of merging specific building techniques that would result in a urban figure.
Beginning in an isolated wish for separation, the necessary tectonic system that allows a small unit to rise above the neighborhood also lays the rubric for modular growth. Singular housing extends into an urban block.
The project is described in various stages of development, chronicling different urban implications.
